WMRRA Ninja 250R Cup Class is coming in 2011!

October 18th, 2010 No comments

While the rules aren’t ironed out, the Ninja Cup Class will become reality. There were around five 250’s on the grid for the last round. From what I’ve heard there should easily be roughly twenty bikes on the grid for 2011! Did I mention I picked up a 2008 Ninja 250R? I bought it very naked, but that’s okay! The blue will have to go…

If you’ve been thinking about getting into racing, this is the perfect opportunity as it won’t cost an arm and a leg to get started. Both new and old-gen 250’s will be on the grid and from what I understand many will be running nearly naked bikes (tail fairing only.) Did I mention if you’re new as a Novice you’ll be racing with Experts instead of with the other Novices?

Alpinestars MX-1 suit damage (Before & After) Repaired by Victoria-A in Bellevue, WA

October 18th, 2010 No comments

I never took the time to do a before/after on my suit after the dramatic burning bike crash @ ~130mph. Here it is, all repairs done by Victoria-A – I highly recommend them for leather repair, patchwork, you name it. The photos don’t show all the damage, but you get the idea.

2010 WMRRA Round 4 + Round 6

August 17th, 2010 No comments

Round 4 was rough for me, as I wasn’t fully recovered and little did I know I had a sinus infection. I’ve never struggled so much while on the track. However, I went into Round 6 feeling great. I pulled my fastest lap times and finished 3rd in HW GP…but holy shit was it hot out there!

Here is a quick comparison of Round 4 vs. Round 6 @ Pacific Raceway…

Did I mention?

Dyno results my 2001 ZX6R Race dedicated bike, the motor is stock (although I was told it had an EDR build, I’m thinking otherwise from the dyno), it has a full akra system (that leaks), Factory Pro Ti kit (badly tuned) and BMC Race air filter.

The results 97.66HP – See image..

Apparently a little lean ~7k and really rich past that, I was told to raise the needle a notch and drop a main jet size. I was considering doing some carb adjustments and heading back to the dyno.

Current carb settings:
Main jets: 152.5 150 150 152.5
Needle position: #3 #4 #4 #3
Air fuel screws are set ~3 or so turns out
Carb is synced
